Rianna Update

Rianna is doing great! She slept well last night. She didn't wake me up until 6am! She is pale and has dark circles under her eyes, but she is doing quite well. Grandma Mary and Grandpa Jim came to visit at the hospital yesterday and Grandma Chris sent lots of love via text (Rianna's favorite form of communication) so she thought that was great! We're going to bed early tonight so that we can get up early, get bundled up, and go to the Hobo Day Parade...We will get pictures of the girls! They're going to ride on a float and will probably wave like little divas if they see someone they know!

My Munchkins Wreak Havoc!!

As I'm wasting an evening, downloading these videos of the girls, Dennis is wrestling with them. If you ask, he'll tell you that he got in a brawl with couple of big, strong men. Truth is, he was getting his butt kicked by two very cute little girls. The last and final act in the fight was when Rianna stepped on his head, smashing his face back into the couch, behind the cushins, and banging up his nose and slicing thru his forehead. He didn't need stitches, or a doctor to repair his (almost broken) nose. He just is very lucky that I keep all the proper medical supplies in the house, including Steri Strips.

Yes, I laughed too!

Jordin went to school today!! YAY!! Her voice is still really cute, but I dont' think the sound quality on my camera is all that great. Oh well, her facial expressions are sure to make you giggle :)

Sertoma Butterfly House

Butterflies!!!

Jordin & Daddy seem to have mis-placed my camera.

ahem.

I am under strict orders by Val to get another blog up. Jordin's recovering; still not sleeping through the night. It's been very hard with her. It reminds me of when she was a baby and we never got any sleep. We're hoping that Rianna handles it a lot better. She goes in on Thursday. It takes a lot to bog Rianna down. Jordin's definitely getting better quality of sleep though. She just gets a sore throat when she sleeps.

I'm so tired. Did I mention that?

This year, for Jordin's birthday in July, we went to the Sertoma Butterfly House in Sioux Falls. Here are some of my favorite pictures. I stole Dennis's camera and didn't let him take any pictures. That'll teach him :)

Do you see where the butterfly is? Look really hard. They're flying everywhere and it's so cool! Very hard to get pictures of them in flight.

This little floozy. Must have been mating season, she had TWO trying to do the deed with her. And yes, I took pictures!!

You can't touch them. Kayly got as close as she could without actually touching this one.

In the Butterfly House, you're in THEIR house. Watch your step!

They will land wherever they please. Dennis had them all over him. From his head to his toes!! Can you see all three on him?

This one really bothered him!! He wanted to brush it off, but you can't touch them!!

This is one of my favorite pictures of Kayly of all time :) HOW COOL!

Thursday

What a morning! Beautiful sunrise! BUT....not so good that Jordin and I were viewing it from her hospital room.

Before the sunrise, we were headed out the door. She's trying to make sure she doesn' t blink.

Waiting to go downstairs to the Operating Room. She liked that the speaker could be put wherever she wanted it. I was happy they didn't make her put on a hospital gown.

Just woke up from surgery, not very happy!!

My poor, poor baby. She slept all day, only waking occasionally to vomit. She couldn't keep down anything. Even when she didn't try anything, she was still sick. She went down to surgery at 730am; we checked out at 530pm. It was a very very long day!

Here she just woke up and was starting to feel well enough to sit up and NOT vomit. Her big sister was so distraught over her having surgery, she came right after school and crawled into bed with her. Rianna is so precious, she was trying to be gentle and not upset Jordin, but she couldn't help herself. She just had to be there to give her luvins.
In 2 weeks, we'll wash, rinse and repeat. Rianna is up next!

Tickle Tuesday

Tickle me happy--it's TUESDAY!!

I have almost nothing to write about. So, today you'll just get an update into our little world.

Today, Dennis did a ton of cleaning. I still have boxes and things that need to find a home. I've been doing little bits here and there, but next thing I know it's already been FIVE months and we're still "in process". Very un-cool for me. We're in a transitional place right now. Dennis will be getting out of the guards soon; he has been gainfully un-employed for a month now; and he still has a lot to do! Since his obligation to the guards and to his job have been/are being terminated, this will be our year to downsize. That's not the right word. What I mean is, get rid of as much crapl as we possibly can. Why? you ask. Well, it's finally time for us to pack up and get out of here! So, while we camp out in this trailer all winter, Dennis will be looking for another job and working on wrapping up his military career. So when I tell you that Dennis did a lot of cleaning today, I don't mean he dusted and mopped. I mean, he took many things to Goodwill, he threw out lots of stuff, and donated various other belongings. We're still looking for a good home for the bunk-bed frame and the desk. At this point, I'd much rather give them away. Less crap means less crap to move this spring. The big down-side is leaving Kayly. But she's going to be 13 soon, and so she'll be able to come stay summers and holidays with us. Who knows, maybe she'll like it too. Of the last 10 years, we've lived in this dreaded town a total of four. The economy is in the toilet; the job market is slim. We're going to take advantage of this opportunity to open our arms wide and welcome change. This is a very over-due change for us. We're so excited to see what God has in store for us next!

If you or anyone you know, needs the bunk bed frame (it's a futon/double bottom, twin top black metal frame) please let me know! Or, if you're interested in a very nice desk, please drop me a line!

Rianna and Jordin are seeing the ENT doctor tomorrow. We are planning on surgery for both on Thursday. Tomorrow we will let the doctor look at Rianna's tonsils and see what's in store for him. He saw Jordin last year. They're going for different reasons, though. Rianna has sore throats almost daily. She's finishing up her 4th antibiotic since July. She has huge tonsils and a lot of strep in her short 8-year-life. Jordin is going for airway obstruction. She snores when she sleeps and when she wakes up, she doesn't feel rested at all. We are hoping with better sleep, she will have more energy and not feel so run-down all the time. Her tonsils are almost as big as Rianna's. The girls have a 4-day weekend with Native American Day on Monday. (here in SD, we don't celebrate Columbus Day, seeing as how the land was already "discovered") And with Daddy being non-employee of the month, he can be Daddy of the Month!! I'll post more on them when I can.

5 years

Five years ago, Dennis was in Iraq. Rianna turned 3 and Jordin had her first birthday. Kayly was 7 for almost the whole year. I was in college and we lived in Aberdeen. So much has happened since then!! Come with me for a trip down memory lane! I miss my babies being so cute and little!! They grow up and don't cuddle with their mommy so much anymore :( But at least I'm done with diapers!!

Jordin learning how to brush her teeth and Rianna teaching her. They had matching outfits on, by the way :)
Here we've got a 7 year old Kayly. Starting to look beautiful but still has that youthful cutie-pie look

Shaylee, almost 6; Rianna, 3; Kayly, 7; Jordin 1----my beautiful girls
Jordin and Rianna before they got so big they had to fight over the chair...but they still manage to squeeze on it together.
Rianna and Kayly love eachother (really I know they do because between fights, they tell eachother)

If I were to ever own a diamond ring again.... ahhh so pretty :)
